COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD ("CSFP")
CSFP is a program that works to improve the health of low-income elderly (at least 60), pregnant and breastfeeding women, and new mothers (up to one year postpartum), infants, and children up to age six, by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA commodity foods. CSFP provides 30 lb food packages, monthly, to participants enrolled in the program. This is a great way for individuals and households to incorporate a good source of nutrients into their diet. Please call our main office if you are interested in applying for the program or in volunteering for this program.

BASIC FOOD EDUCATION (Food Stamps)
Did you know that you can sign up for Food Stamps (and basic DSHS programs) at Community Action? Basic Food (formerly "food stamps") is a food and nutrition program for individuals and families who meet the income guidelines. This program helps people afford a nutritious diet by providing eligible households an electronic benefits card and monthly benefits to buy food at participating grocery stores and markets.

squarefootgarden PEOPLE LEARNING AGRICULTURE & NUTRITION TOGETHER (PLANT)
The purpose of PLANT is to help Okanogan County WIC clients increase their fruit and vegetable consumption. The Family Health Center's WIC agency is working with Community Action and Okanogan Valley Farmer's Market to organize and build gardens at the residences of WIC clients, to provide free gardening demonstrations, and to conduct a program gleaning unused crops from local farms to Okanogan County's food banks.
