Answer "Yes" to the following questions and you may qualify for a low interest or no interest home improvement loan!

·         Is your home located in Okanogan County or the city of Bridgeport

·         Do you own, or are you in the process of buying your home and/or land?

·         Do you plan on living in your home for at least one year?

·         Do you have fire insurance?

·         If your home is a mobile or a manufactured home, is it on a permanent foundation or is a permanent foundation part of your improvement plan?

·         Will the improvements you wish to make meet county codes?

·         Have you been unable to qualify for a loan because of your income?

Steps to Obtaining Assistance

·         Complete an over the phone pre-application while speaking to the receptionist.

·         If we can determine from the pre-application that you and your home may be eligible for assistance, you will receive a Home Improvement application.  Please complete and return the application including a detailed map to your home and all necessary documentation.

·         Once your application is received and reviewed by a Family Development Specialist in the Housing Department you will be contacted for an appointment to complete an interview.

·         Once your eligibility is confirmed, an Auditor will be scheduled to audit your home and determine if your home is eligible.

·         If the repairs or improvements needed appear to be within the scope of our programs, Community Action’s Housing Department will seek to obtain bids from licensed, bonded contractors.

·         When the bids are received, we will review the proposal with you.  If you are applying for a loan another appointment will be scheduled for you to sign loan papers.

·         The contractor will be issued a proceed order and the work will commence according to a schedule the contractor makes with you.
